Tree Lighting Ceremony with Micky Dolenz of The Monkees
Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square, New York’s largest holiday festival, will kick off on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 5:30pm with the Upper West Side’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at Dante Park on Broadway between 63rd and 64th Streets.
We are pleased to announce that Micky Dolenz will headline this year’s tree lighting ceremony. Micky Dolenz IS the voice of The Monkees. The unmistakable performer that moved a generation and led this pop culture phenomena to a dozen Top 20 singles, four #1 albums and two Emmy Awards. Having entertained audiences his entire life, Micky brings a one-of-a-kind presence to the stage, drawing on his background in television, film broadcasting and Broadway.
Join Micky Dolenz, WABC-TV and others for the countdown and help us light up the Upper West Side and celebrate Lincoln Square. After the tree lighting, the event’s festivities continue all evening from Time Warner Center to 68th Street with more live music, outdoor food tastings presented by Glenwood, a Dance Party at the TD Dance Tent and fun for the whole family.
This year’s 27ft Concolor Fir will again come from Domes Tree Farm located in Bliss, New York. The tree will be installed by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation with lights donated by Lowe’s Home Improvement and old-fashioned silver glass glitter ornaments by Wendy Addison and Tinsel Trading.
