Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square, New York’s largest holiday festival, will kick off on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 5:30pm with the Upper West Side’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at Dante Park on Broadway between 63rd and 64th Streets.

We are pleased to announce that three time Grammy nominee Bettye LaVette will join us to sing at the tree lighting ceremony and help us pay tribute to the late Sharon Jones who sadly died on Friday, November 18, 2016 after a brave fight against cancer. Bettye is a master song stylist and one of the greatest American soul singers. Bettye, whose career spans over five decades from the birth of soul music in the 60s, recently won Best Soul Blues Female Artist of 2016 at The Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee, and her most recent CD, Worthy, garnered her a third Grammy nomination.

The tree lighting ceremony will be hosted by Justin Guarini, from Broadway’s In Transit The Musical. Justin will lead the lineup on the main stage at Dante Park and will perform a variety of holiday classics. Members of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus will also perform. And, WABC-TV’s Amy Freeze will join us for the countdown and help us light up the Upper West Side and celebrate Lincoln Square. After the tree lighting, the event’s festivities continue all evening from Time Warner Center to 68th Street with more live music, outdoor food tastings presented by Glenwood, a Dance Party at the TD Dance Tent on 61st Street and fun for the whole family.

This year’s 27ft Concolor Fir comes from Domes Tree Farm located in Bliss, New York in partnership with I Love NY. The tree was installed by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and features lights donated by Lowe’s Home Improvement and old-fashioned silver glass glitter ornaments by Wendy Addison and Tinsel Trading.
