The Blue Dahlia

Dahlia Dumont: vocals, ukulele, songwriter. Brooklyn-girl, yet a nomad at heart, Dahlia Dumont travelled the world from a very young age, always absorbing the cultural and musical influences in her path. Her Eastern European heritage as well as her years living between France and Senegal as a anthropology student shaped her musical palette, and in 2012, gave birth to ‘The Blue Dahlia.’

‘The Blue Dahlia:’ Lyrics in English and in French, French and Mexican accordion, klezmer violin, the warm, groovy rhythms of reggae, ska and Latin America, and the sensual voices of jazz and la chanson française. The music can be heard as an acoustic trio from inside the intimate bistros of New York City and Paris, as well as the full, electric big band ensemble in various venues and festivals around the world.

In July 2015, Dahlia self-released her first album, and has since been touring it through Western Europe every few months.  The second album is now underway, which will feature musicians from both her NYC and Parisian bands! Today Dahlia lives between New York and Paris.
